Pros: Cat doesn't smell like scoop away litter. That's the only one.
Cons: The vile, putrid odor that the genie creates and leaves hanging in your house.
Honestly, it doesn't work well. Like most people here said, the scooper breaks the poop and leaves small pieces that get blown dry; this stinks up your house and you have to pick out the pieces. Beneath the center of the bowl, there's a post that the bowl spins on. There are slots around the post that dirty water gets trapped in. So even if your cat only urinates and the cycle cleans the litter, there's this small amount of dirty water hiding under the bowl that didn't make it out and the hot air blowing into the bowl heats that up and again, stinks up your house. It will make you gag, unless you are smell-blind. I have gotten very good at taking apart the bowl and the hopper. I have never had a clog as customer service keeps telling me. My catgenie is properly set up and I have done all the trouble shooting one can do with this thing. When I take it apart, I use an old toothbrush and clean EVERY nook and cranny; every slit in the bowl; even using pipe cleaners to get down around that post. Took the thing outside and power washed it, shooting water thru the drain tube and nothing came out but water so no, no clogging issues, just that damned stink. And just 2 or 3 cycles after all this deep cleaning and the stink is back. Absolutely putrid. The normal cat box with the scoop away never smelled up my house the way this thing does, even when we've been gone for the weekend. Their customer service is awful and once you've exceeded your warranty they simply try to sell you a new box rather than address the issues you are having with the unit. I wish I'd found these reviews before I bought it. would have saved a fortune.
